Baby tops

I have been sewing up a storm. In little bitty clouds. As in, not altogether. A few seams at a time. The literal weather is decidedly spring-y and has slowed me down a little lately but nothing can keep me from my sewing machine for long.

I've got enough pieces cut for three baby quilt tops. And to read more about where they're going, stop in here or here. I don't care so much about the giveaways but I do want to help pass a little goodness forward, and I get to play with colours and fabrics I wouldn't normally use for myself. Like puppy dogs and ducks. Polka dots and vibrant stripes. Plus, I've never made pinwheel blocks before now. They're kinda fun.

Oh, who am I trying to kid? It's mostly about having an "excuse" to sew. Who can begrudge you time spent making quilt blocks for extra-special, need-a-little-more-attention wee babes??
No one. Not without looking a bit like a jerk. And that, my friends, is the secret to getting away with being selfish with your time. :-)

  2. Oh Carly...they are so fun and happy! They are going to make the most gorgeous quilts, and you are so right, what better way to have an excuse to sew than to make something special for little babes, eh? (you like that...I slipped in an eh for you...I just might pass for a TRUE Canadian some day...no my Southern drawl quickly gives me away!) Thanks again sooooo much for all the time you've spent to donate to the Quilting for Babes project, I appreciate it tons and tons!

Who doesn't love comments? I appreciate every single one and try to reply to each. Unless you're a no-reply commenter. Then I can't. And I have a little sad moment. Like a dropped ice cream cone. So if you're a no-reply commenter and have a question, check the comment thread and I'll try to reply there. :-)
